Dr.Hauschka Skin Care & the Visa Swap Shop

In April 2008 Dr.Hauschka Skin Care sponsored the first German Visa Swap Shop, promoting sustainable fashion through ethical swapping. For three weeks fashionistas were able to drop off unwanted designer clothes and good-condition high-street brand goods at the Visa Swap Shop in the Berlin Mitte district to make space in their wardrobes for new acquisitions. For each article of clothing dropped off, participants collected points on a Visa Swap card. This could then be used to ‘pay’ for new articles from the clothing pool.

The Visa Swap Shop combines fashion consciousness with the concept of sustainability by giving an impulse not to simply jettison fashion items but to lend them new value through the idea of exchange: a model that encourages careful and responsible consumer behaviour. The campaign was conducted in cooperation with the independent charity Oxfam Deutschland e.V. Dr.Hauschka Skin Care was represented by Dr.Hauschka Estheticians who were on site to advise and make up visitors to the shop.
